Stockland Retirement’s search for Sydney agency spells end of tenure for Melbourne’s Evergreen

Stockland Retirement is searching for a Sydney-based agency to handle its $3m national advertising and media account, a move that has prompted Melbourne-based incumbent Evergreen to decline to pitch for the business.

Gill Walker, MD of Evergreen, a specialist in babyboomer marketing, said: “We have many national accounts that are more than happy to be serviced by a Melbourne agency. But for them [Stockland Retirement] it was important to have a well established larger Sydney and Melbourne based agency.”

Evergreen has handled media and creative for Stockland for the last two years.

Walker added: “The decision not to pitch was a tough one, but it was the right one due to practical and logistical reasons. Our relationship is amicable, still very strong and one of great respect as we continue to work on projects over the next few months.”

The pitch follows Stockland Retirement’s acquisition of Aevum villages.
