Students interested in entering the media and marketing world are being invited to apply for free places at the annual MGrad program at next week’s Mumbrella360 conference.

MGrad Student Career Day, takes place on the second day of the Mumbrella360 conference on 9 June attending the presentations of international keynotes, including Spotify’s Jeff Rossi, before a series of sessions from each of the GroupM agencies – Maxus, MEC, MediaCom and Mindshare – on the inner workings of media, marketing and communications.

Attendees will also hear from successful 2015 MGrad graduates who will give insider information on what a career in media actually looks like.

GroupM will also give students a high-tech glimpse of life in a media agency through a series of virtual reality films, filmed in the offices of its agencies with a 360-degree camera, to showcase what a graduates’ working day might look like.

They will also get the opportunity to tackle a client brief with the help of six project stations focusing on research & insights; strategy; content; channel planning; activation &investment; and performance.

At the end of the day, interested attendees will be able to apply for the GroupM MGrad Programme, a paid two-month graduate internship starting in October 2016.

The programme is designed to give the grads a unique and practical experience of being fully immersed in the industry.

Mgrad posterChief HR & talent officer Elissa Good-Omozusi said: “When it comes to attracting bright graduates to our industry, we are competing with the more high-profile and more lucrative worlds of tech, high finance and management consultancy.

“The first hurdle we must overcome if we are to effectively compete is the lack of knowledge among graduates about the plethora of rewarding and inspiring careers in media and advertising.

“MGrad is a great way of reaching talented graduates and has proven very effective in identifying the future leaders of our industry.”

Students can register for the M Grad Student Career Day on the mUmBRELLA360 website here.
