Studio Channel to pay tribute to Philip Seymour

To celebrate the life of one of the world’s most talented Oscar-winning actors, STUDIO presents a special screening of BAFTA: A Life in Pictures with Philip Seymour Hoffman, tonight at 7.00pm AEDT.

Studio Channel is to pay tribute to actor Philip Seymour, who passed away today.

The announcement: 

Award-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman has passed away in New York City aged 46. Hoffman won the Academy Award for best actor for the 2005 biographical film Capote, and went on to receive three nominations for best supporting actor for his roles in Charlie Wilson’s WarDoubt and The Master.

Hoffman made his debut as a film director in 2010 with the New York-set Jack Goes Boating, in which he also starred. He also frequently appeared on the Broadway stage, garnering Tony Award nominations forDeath of a SalesmanLong Day’s Journey Into Night and True West.

At 7.00pm tonight, to celebrate the life of this tremendous talent, STUDIO Remembers: Philip Seymour Hoffman with a special screening of BAFTA: A Life in Pictures with Philip Seymour Hoffman, which explores BAFTA nominee Phillip Seymour Hoffman’s journey from high school theatre student to iconic actor.

BAFTA: A Life in Pictures delves into the lives and films of Hollywood’s biggest names. From their childhood to their beginnings in the film industry, to the highs (and lows) of their success – each BAFTA winning actor or director sits down in front of a live audience for a revealingly candid interview, their insights into the craft of film are interspersed with clips from each star’s most important pictures.
