Stuff You Should Know ends 2020 as Australia’s #1 podcast

The final Australian Podcast Ranker for 2020 has named iHeartPodcast Network Australia’s Stuff You Should Know podcast as the #1 most-downloaded title in the country.

After dropping down to second spot in November, Stuff You Should Know reclaimed the summit in the December ranker, compiled by Triton Digital in collaboration with Commercial Radio Australia.

Other changes within the top 10 saw News Corp Australia’s From The Newsroom (#4) oust Schwartz Media’s 7am (#5) as the most downloaded news podcast for December.

Despite falling three places to #8, The Kyle and Jackie O show remains the top radio catch-up podcast.

There were also several new entries to land in the Top 100 during the latest reporting period, including Something Was Wrong (Audioboom), Your Morning Mantra (Podshape), and Let’s Not Meet: A True Horror Podcast (Audioboom).

Although it fell from the #1 position on the overall Australian Podcast Ranker, Audioboom’s Casefile True Crime retained its top position on the All-Australian Top 100 ahead of Hamish and Andy at #2.

Nova Entertainment’s newly rebranded news podcast The Update, which now goes out twice daily, was the only new podcast to break into the Aussie top 10.
