Sub editors: for when your reporters can’t write good
Dr Mumbo always enjoys reading The Australian on a Monday.
Not least because it’s a good place to find out what its former editor-in-chief turned why-I-was-right columnist, Chris Mitchell, thought of his staff.
Writing about News Corp’s moves to get rid of many of its sub editors and photographers, Mitchell reveals that the state of reporters raw copy is, in fact, shocking.
Good to know.
Funny. A lot of us thought Chris was rewriting because he is a control freak. Even so, I wonder why Chris was never himself a senior writer in any newspaper?

Ha ha ha! The only reason Chris had to keep re-writing copy was because his reporters kept filing “real news” (like about the human causes of climate change, and the fact that the Lib party has many flawed policies) into “fake news” that his boss Rupert Murdoch wants to read. Pathetic!

How many subbies game enough to send copy back to Chris with ‘try harder’ ?
