Sumsound opens at Trackdown Sydney

SumsoundA new sound mixing theatre, Sumsound at Trackdown, has opened at the Entertainment Quarter in Sydney.

Owned by Brent Heber, Sumsound is a partnership with Trackdown with a focus on affordability.

The mixing theatre offers an Icon mixing console, specifically designed for controlling ProTools. It can open HD offline picture formats without the need of a low-res proxy.

“I’ve seen Quicktime movie exports take hours, just to get the job from video edit into audio post. Your average film may have anywhere from 5-10 handovers to audio post, each one can take up to 4x real time to render, so we’re talking about saving up to 60 hours of rendering time in expensive video suites,” said Heber in a statement.

Heber has previously worked representing ProTools and Avid Audio.
