Sun-Herald launches Zoo Month promo
To mark its sponsorship of Taronga Zoo, the Sun-Herald has launched a promotional campaign called ‘Zoo Month’ which features a collectable poster series of endangered animals.

July 1, 2011: To celebrate its sponsorship of Taronga Zoo, Fairfax Media today announced the launch of The Sun-Herald’s Zoo Month, a promotional campaign taking place each Sunday till the end of July, featuring an educational four-part collectable poster series of endangered animals.
Importantly, The Sun-Herald will mark the launch of Zoo Month by donating 10 cents from every copy of the paper sold this Sunday, July 3 to the Taronga Conservation Foundation, to support conservation, education and research initiatives for threatened and endangered wildlife in Australia and around the world.
Also this Sunday, for the first time, The Sun-Herald will have a special Taronga Zoo wrap, featuring editorial about endangered wildlife and a vibrant animal print pattern on the cover, which will be sponsored by Bing Lee.
Beginning on Sunday 10 July, the paper will launch the first of its four-part collectable wildlife poster series, sponsored by Viva, featuring images and information about four endangered animals that are under the protection of the Taronga Conservation Foundation.
The posters are of high quality, and include information about the animals on the reverse, and how people can help protect them.
The Sun-Herald editor Rick Feneley said: “We’re delighted to support the Taronga Conservation Foundation by donating funds to support its research initiatives and increasing awareness about its conservation efforts for endangered wildlife.”
The Zoo Month campaign is part of Fairfax Media’s three-year partnership with Taronga Zoo, which will see The Sydney Morning Herald and The Sun-Herald support the key conservation and fundraising initiatives of Taronga Conservation Foundation through a series of publishing initiatives.
