Sunrise lands post divorce Kim Kardashian interview, but Kyle & Jackie O (and Ten News) gets to her first
Seven’s breakfast TV show Sunrise has snaffled a studio interview with US celebrity Kim Kardashian in what will be her first live TV appearance since announcing that she was divorcing just two months after getting married.
Kardashian is in Australia for the Melbourne Cup. was due in Australia for the Melbourne Cup, althoguh flight delays only saw her arrive on Tuesday.
Sunrise EP Michael Pell described the exclusive as “a major coup”.
Kardashian, and her sister Khloe, will appear after 8am on Thursday.
The timing of the interview is a bonus for Sunrise, which has been fighting hard to keep its nose ahead of Nine’s Today Show over the last couple of weeks.
November 2 update: However, Sunrise will not be first to air an interview. The Today Network has revealed that it is due to talk to Kardashian in the next couple of hours as a pre-recorded interview which will air on the Kyle & Jackie O Hour of Power in metro markets at 6pm tonight.
Update to the update: Ten’s showbiz reporter Angela Bishop is also interviewing Kardashian this afternoon, which will air at 5pm.

Who cares? While most news channels last night followed SJP or the Kardashian divorce, real channels like ABC and SBS where reporting on the big issues and news like the boat crash off Indonesia. I wish this country would look at their priorities in regards to what is and isn’t news.
