Supercars revs up its broadcast partnership with Seven and Foxtel
Supercars has locked in multi-year extended broadcasting deals with Foxtel and Seven.
The deal with Foxtel will see every round of the Repco Supercars Championship — plus the Bathurst 12 Hour — air live, ad-break free, and in ultra-high definition across Kayo Sports and Foxtel. This equates to more than 350 hours of live action.
Foxtel has held the rights to Supercars since 2015.
The deal with Seven will see marquee events — the Repco Bathurst 1000, the opening round, Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500, and the BP Adelaide Grand Final — broadcast live across Seven and 7plus Sport.
Supercars CEO James Warburton called the Foxtel extension a “landmark partnership” and “an enormous win for our sport and our fans.”
“It guarantees that Supercars will continue to be showcased with the most extensive, high-quality coverage in our history.”
Foxtel Group CEO Patrick Delany said: “Australians love live and local sport and Supercars is certainly in the first tier of premium Australian fan experience sports.
“Nowhere else in the world can fans access every race of F1, MotoGP, NASCAR, World Superbikes, and the beloved local Supercars series – all live – on a single streaming platform. This unparalleled line-up delivers extraordinary value for our subscribers.”
Seven touts its “long and proud association” with Supercars in its media release. Seven broadcast Supercars from 1963 to 1996, again from 2007 to 2014, and from 2021 to now. Last year’s Bathurst 1000 had a national total TV audience of 1.19 million on Seven.
Warburton was the Seven boss from 2017 to 2024. He notes the network “has played such a significant role in the history of our championship, telling the stories of our teams, our drivers and our great race for generations. Extending that partnership is a fantastic outcome.”
Seven CEO Jeff Howard, said: “For more than 50 years, we have worked closely with Supercars to bring innovative, world-class coverage to all Australians – live and free.
“We are very pleased about the new multi-year agreement, which comes at an exciting time for Supercars, with the first final series later this year, the prospect of a Perth Stadium race and, of course, the addition of Toyota to the championship.
“The latter will be a true game changer and will take this great sport to a whole new level.”
Seven’s Commercial Director, Sport, Renee Quirk, adds: “Supercars is synonymous with Seven and a very important part of our overall sport line up. This agreement reinforces our commitment to delivering world-class motorsport entertainment to fans across Australia.
“Supercars continues to captivate audiences with its thrilling competition and passionate community, and we are proud to announce this new deal and excited about what’s to come.”
Bathurst 1000 will take place from October 10-12.
