Suzuki Australia launches ‘best ever’ animated ad
Suzuki Australia has launched its “best ever” television commercial to promote its Swift Sport Turbo model.
Created by animation studio, Jumbla, and creative agency, The Sanford Partnership, the ad shows the car being made from hot liquid metal.
Michael Pachota, general manager of automobiles at Suzuki Australia, said the ad is a first for the car brand.
“The feedback from our dealer network and audiences alike has been that it’s probably the best television commercial that we’ve ever produced for Suzuki Australia.”
Oz Smith, Jumbla creative director, said the challenge when creating the ad was making the lava flow in a visually appealing way.
“Real molten metal is quite watery and runny, but we wanted something with sentience. We settled on a thicker, honey-like consistency, which is more believable and controlled.
“We tried to create something that not only looked interesting, but also formed the car quickly in a lifelike, visually-satisfying way.
“The team used Real Flow to create the bulk of the molten metal shots, which involved a lot of experimentation with different viscosity of the liquid.”
The campaign will run across TV and on Suzuki’s web page.
One thing I don’t understand about car brands is that all manufacturers have exact blue print mm CAD designs of their cars available – they made the car!
We would have photo-realistic models easily available for advertising if the creatives talked to the engineering teams without needing to re-model every time.

Not sure which car companies you’ve worked with Keaton but most car companies we’ve worked with treat their CAD designs as a totally confidential asset and hence we think Jumbla did a great job.

I know for sure, Suzuki has created better ads. Parkour is one that comes to mind.

We also produced the Swift Parkour TVC.
