Swisse and Ponting journey to India for summer cricket campaign

A behind-the-scenes ad featuring Ricky Ponting in Mumbai, India, will launch on New Year’s Day, as part of Swisse’s summer of cricket campaign.

The campaign features Ponting playing cricket with Mumbai locals, as well as talking about his passion for cricket, health and Swisse, in celebration of his 10th year as a brand ambassador.

Michael Howard, director of marketing and sales, Swisse said he was excited to launch the campaign because the creative was completely different to the brand’s previous work.

“We turned the streets of a small fishing village in Mumbai into an extraordinary setting of street cricket,” Howard said.

“The team worked with a local production crew of over 100 people, filming over two days in the sweltering heat. The locals happily joined in for a game of backyard cricket ‘Indian style’ with Ricky, which was a dream come true for this passionate cricket community.”

Ponting described his experience working as ambassador for Swisse for 10 years as “extraordinary.”

“It is a relationship that I am exceptionally proud of as I was the first sportsman for the Swisse brand. I have had a lot fun over the years and met incredible people who have made every minute enjoyable,” Ponting said.

“I take a number of Swisse vitamins that keep me healthy and happy, and to tell you the truth, I wouldn’t know life without them.”

“Mumbai has been my second home, so being able to film and play a few games of cricket with the locals, where we shared lots of laughter and happiness, was a memorable experience,” he added.

The campaign will run throughout January in line with the 2017 Big Bash season and will feature Swisse Men’s Ultivite, Swisse Ultiboost Liver Detox and Swisse Ultiboost Glucosamine Sulfate.
