Sydney FC signs latest sponsor ahead of season launch

2019-2020 A-League champions Sydney FC has signed a major partnership agreement with property services provider the Glad Group.

As part of the sponsorship, Glad Group will be on the shirt sleeve of the Sky Blues’ A-League jerseys throughout season 2020-21, which kicks off for Sydney FC on Saturday 2 January at WIN Stadium in Wollongong against Wellington Phoenix. The Sydney FC W-League match kicks off tomorrow, 30 December at Bankwest Stadium.

Glad Group will also become Sydney FC’s technical partner for the up-coming season meaning their logo will embellish all of the  club’s A-League and W-League coaching and performance staff’s match day kit.

Sydney FC CEO Danny Townsend said: “This is another great partnership for Sydney FC with a company who have an extensive presence across Australia. Glad Group share many of our key values and are a family-owned business.”

The deal between the two partners is for an initial first season with an option of a further two beyond that.

Glad Group join Sydney FC’s other long-term major partners such as The Star, Kennards Hire, Fujitsu and McDonald’s ahead of 2020-21 season.

The A-League will this season run independently of the national football body, Football Australia, and is no longer in partnership with Hyundai, which was the naming rights sponsor for the competition for 15 years.

NSW-based teams such as Sydney FC have worked with the NSW Government to ensure that the A-League and Westfield W-League seasons will go ahead as planned despite recent restrictions introduced in NSW as a result of COVID-19.

The competition also recently signed new sponsorships with Bunnings and insurer Gallagher. The partnership with Bunnings will see the launch of the ‘Bunnings Ladder’ and the ‘Bunnings Team of the Week’, while Gallagher is the official referee sponsor and insurance broker.
