Sydney Markets launches ‘50 Years in 50 Days’ campaign
Sydney Markets Limited has unveiled a new digital campaign celebrating the 50th anniversary of its Flemington opening.

Sydney Markets Limited is running ‘50 Years in 50 Days’, a new digital campaign celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Markets’ opening in Flemington. The campaign showcases the incredible five decades of the Markets operating as the beating heart of Australia’s fresh produce and floral industry.
The campaign honours the 39 characters of the market who have been at Flemington since its doors opened on 12 September 1975. The ‘Class of ’75’ share their stories and personal reflections along with archival photographs. Designed and delivered by Sydney Markets’ internal Communications, Engagement & Marketing team, the creative concept connects the past with the present, showing that Sydney Markets is not just a hub for fresh produce and florals, but also an important part of community and culture.
The original traders and their families are profiled through a mix of video content and social-first storytelling. The campaign has already garnered strong online engagement, with the launch video gaining over 30,000 views.
“We wanted this milestone to honour the Markets people who have laid the foundation for the last 50 years. By sharing these wholesome stories, we’re celebrating the dedication of our tenants and their families while engaging audiences in a way that is deeply authentic and personal. Among those reflecting on the milestone is long-time trader Joe Antico from Sinclair & Antico. He said in this campaign video: “It just passes like yesterday, I couldn’t believe it was 50 years, it’s an incredible place. The amount of product that we do move in Sydney Markets, sometimes I’d stand here and would scratch my head and wonder where it all goes”.
From trading snapshots of the early days to first-person memories, the campaign captures the resilience, dedication and community spirit that has defined Sydney Markets for half a century.
The 50 Years in 50 Days campaign is rolling out across Sydney Markets’ social channels, including Instagram and Facebook.
