Tabcorp promotes Claire Murphy as new CMO, part of total marketing restructure
After a four-month hunt for a new chief marketing officer, gaming giant Tabcorp has promoted internally, appointing Claire Murphy to the role.
Murphy joined Tabcorp in January 2015, taking on the role of general manager – marketing, Keno and Gaming, before taking on the CMO role in an acting capacity four months ago when Mike Smith left the company, having held the role for just 10 months.
The departure of Smith – just days before the start of the Melbourne Cup Carnival prompted Tabcorp to launch a review of its marketing structure.
Tabcorp will now centralise marketing under the CMO, with business unit marketing leaders embedded across its three businesses in wagering and media, Keno, and gaming services.
Murphy has extensive experience in the sporting and gaming sectors, having been marketing director with William Hill and general manager of marketing services for Crown.
She has also held roles with the Melbourne Storm, World Wrestling Entertainment and Visit London.

Well done Claire

January 2105, eh? The lady travelled 89 years back in time to take the position.
Perhaps she has brought with her some foreknowledge of market trends, not to mention stock tips?

The date misprint so near to the start made me think I was reading science fiction :o)
Congratulations to Ms Murphy.

Thanks for flagging Paridell,
I’m sure Claire has skills but I’m guessing that’s probably not one of them. Story now corrected.
Cheers
