Teachers Mutual Bank praises the work of real-life teachers

The latest campaign for The Teachers Mutual Bank focuses on a series of positive sentiments about teachers and the tagline ‘the feeling is mutual’.

Sydney agency You Only Live Once (YOLO) created the TV ad with the Republic of Everyone (ROE) as part of an integrated campaign showing how teachers have one of the most important jobs in the world.

All of the teachers in the ad are real-life professionals, and Justine Metcalfe, creative partner at YOLO said: “We brought to life moments and ideals which reflect the reality of being a teacher, such as washing away the stereotype that teaching is all about downing tools when the school bell goes at 3pm, and the shared belief that sustainability is a necessity not an option.”

Theresa Mason, chief sales and marketing officer at Teachers Mutual Bank said the campaign is “a great step forward” in differentiating the bank as a sustainable mutual bank and congratulated the agencies on the campaign.

“They took a complex task and made a simple, insightful and engaging film with an excellent strategic and creative alignment that will build our brand value. Feedback to date is immensely positive from teachers, school principals and many other stakeholders,” she said.

Ben Peacock, founder and partner at ROE, said: “Sustainability is often seen as apart from brand. We think it should be a part of brand. With Teachers Mutual Bank, that’s what we’ve done. Sustainability is what drives the business. And it’s good for business, if only more brands saw the world this way.”
