TEDx signs up commercial partners

Ideas conference TEDx Sydney has revealed its corporate supporters list for this month’s event.

SYDNEY, Aust., 10th May, 2012 – Annual ideas event, TEDxSydney is pleased to announce its partners for 2012, with the event receiving a record level of engagement and support in its third year including five new sponsors.

Major Partners include: ABC – Australian Broadcasting Corporation (Foundation Media Partner), PwC and Optus (new Telecommunications Partner). Significant Partners include: Australia Unlimited (new Event Partner), The University of Sydney (new Education Partner), The Sydney Morning Herald (MediaPartner), NAB Private Wealth (new Event Partner), Carriageworks (Venue & Production) and Event Services (new Staging Partner). Globally acknowledged as one of the world’s most influential new media brands, TED and its offshoot TEDx program is a US based not-for-profit enterprise devoted to the propagation of “Ideas Worth Spreading.”

TEDxSydney returns to Carriageworks in Sydney’s Eveleigh on Saturday 26 May 2012. It will feature a selection of Australia’s leading thinkers, storytellers and performers sharing their ideas with an invited audience and simulcast via webstream to the world at large. TEDxSydney Licensee Remo Giuffré (REMO General Store & General Thinking) said the three-year old brand continues to strengthen, with the 2012 event looking to meet and exceed previous high standards set for content and production. This year the event will be coupled with the Sydney leg of the TED Worldwide Talent Search, as part of a global 14 city event.

Returning in 2012 is Foundation Media Partner, the ABC, producer of TEDxSydney’s official broadcast feeds. The ABC will provide support across its radio, digital andtelevision platforms and as well as overseeing TEDxSydney’s live viewing event in the foyer, which is being produced by Carriageworks in collaboration with co-founder of ABC’s The Chaser, Julian Morrow.
