Telco Felix prepares for market launch with newly appointed partners Paper Moose and Poem

New telco, Felix, is announcing itself to the market ahead of its launch at the end of the year, releasing its first campaign.

The animated ad, from creative partner Paper Moose, educates consumers on the carbon emissions, equating to almost one million tonnes, that Australian phone plans release into the atmosphere.

Felix is a carbon neutral phone plan that is completely powered by renewable energy. The brand is a result of the recent merger between TPG and Vodafone, now the TPG Telecom Limited.

The release of the TVC follows Felix appointing This is Flow to its media account.

Paper Moose ECD, Nick Hunter, said: “The recent bushfires showed just how crucial it is that we start making smarter choices for the climate.

“But in the midst of a pandemic, talking about these important topics can feel difficult. The campaign tackles the topic of emissions in an accessible, light-hearted way, to attract attention from all walks of life.”

Felix general manager of business development, Paul Tierney, praised the role Paper Moose took in building the brand.

“Paper Moose have worked alongside us all year to help build the brand from the ground up,” he said.

“It’s been wonderful working with an agency who is as excited as we are to help Australians reduce their impact on the environment – simply by switching providers. We couldn’t be happier with this first teaser campaign”.

The ad entirely was created in-house by the agency.

PR, social and content agency, Poem, has also been appointed to launch the new telco brand to market following a competitive pitch.

Poem will be producing creative PR and social activations, and work on media relations for the mobile provider’s launch.

Felix is a product of TPG and Vodafone’s merger

Tierney said: “We have selected Poem as we are convinced their creative and integrated approach is right for such a unique brand like Felix. We want to reach and inspire Australian consumers and the Poem team have demonstrated a winning concept throughout the competitive pitch process.”

Poem co-founder, Rob Lowe, praised the sustainable credentials of Felix.

“Australians are looking for more ways to do good for the planet and Felix is helping them do that,” he said.

“We are looking forward to sharing more about ‘the plan with a bigger plan’ with media and consumers over the coming months.”
