Telstra pitches consumer PR account

One of Australia’s biggest PR accounts, consumer public relations for telco giant Telstra, is out for pitch, Mumbrella can reveal.

The consumer account is currently held by Edelman while the rest of the Telstra account is held by Omnicom’s PR Edge, which has just rebranded as Attention+Influence.

Attention+Influence declined to comment on whether it would participate in the process.

Telstra also declined to comment but confirmed the company was reviewing its roster.

In 2013 Telstra had an agency shake-up, appoiting Edelman to its consumer and sponsorship account, Ogilvy PR to its business account, PR Edge as its Country Wide agency and Light House Communications to manage the Telstra awards program.

Two years later, the telco had another roster change narrowing its agency roster to two, Edelman and PR Edge.

The process will have no effect on Telstra’s creative or media roster which includes The Monkeys, Clemenger BBDO Melbourne, DDB Melbourne, Havas, CHE Proximity, JAM Studios and OMD.
