Telstra’s Peter Taylor shifts to Carnival Australia as corporate affairs supremo
Telstra’s group manager of communications Peter Taylor has shifted to cruise ship company Carnival Australia as director of corporate affairs.
Taylor, who was in the role for eight years, said: “It was a tough decision given I think I have had one of the best gigs in the business, but change is important and this is a pretty exceptional opportunity.”
Carnival Australia’s brands include P&O, Princess Cruises, Cunard and Seabourn. He will report in to CEO Ann Sherry. His role includes PR, government relations, issues management, staff communications and events.
Taylor replaces Sandy Olsen who left in August after four years in the role for a job at Infrastructure NSW.
Telstra is currently recruiting for a replacement for Taylor who starts in the new job this week
Congratulations to Carnival on such a smart recruit. Sounds like a meaty role with lots of depth, I think Pete will have lots to offer.

What a huge score for Carnival – Peter is an amazing marketer and will no doubt have Carnival sailing the high seas of success (I couldn’t resist the pun).
