Ten boosts its share on the back of The Project’s Bachelor interview and Party Tricks

Network Ten enjoyed a marked increase in its audience share to 15.3 per cent on its main channel last night on the back of new political drama Party Tricks and a major spike in traffic for the second half of The Project, as viewers tuned in to see The Bachelor’s Blake Garvey and Sam Frost discuss their break up.

The Project’s interview with Garvey and Frost drew a metro audience 1.192m viewers for the 7pm slo, with viewers tuning in to see the reasons behind the couple ending their engagement. This was well up on the 6.30pm slot which drew an average of 793,000 viewers and more than double the audience The Project got last Monday where it drew 651,000 in the 7pm slot.

According to Oztam Ratings, in the 8.30pm slot Ten’s much promoted drama Party Tricks, featuring Asher Keddie and Rodger Corser, drew a solid 710,000 viewers but was beaten by Seven’s The Blacklist which had 945,000. However it did top Nine’s Big Brother which had an audience of 673,000 viewers.

Last week Ten’s share was just 11.6 per cent of the audience, behind the ABC which remained steady on 14 per cent this week.

The final week of The Block saw audiences continue to rise with 1.481m viewers tuning in to watch Nine’s renovation program, making it the most watched program of the night. Meanwhile reality show Big Brother continues to struggle with its audience, well down on the 735,000 the show achieved last week.

Over on Seven, The X Factor drew 1.062m for last night’s live performances while Home and Away drew 958,000 viewers.

In the news stakes Nine News beat its rival with 1.156m to 1.118 in the 6pm slot, while Nine got 1.117m in the 6.30pm slot compared with 1.012m for Seven.

On the ABC, Australian Story’s profile of radio and TV personality Ian ‘Dano’ Rogerson and his family drew an audience of 869,000 viewers.

Nine won the night with an audience share of 22.1 per cent on its main channel, Seven had 20.7 per cent and the ABC 14.0 per cent.
