Ten names actor Jonathan LaPaglia as the host of its new reality show Australian Survivor
LaPaglia to host Australian Survivor
Network Ten has named actor Jonathan LaPaglia as the host of one of its biggest TV franchises Australian Survivor ahead of its launch later this year.
As an actor LaPaglia is best known to Australian audiences for his roles in The Slap and Love Child.
LaPaglia said: “I am honoured to be hosting the Australian version of Survivor, the show that pioneered the mainstream reality television genre almost 20 years ago.
“As a big fan of the show, I am delighted and thrilled to bring all the drama, strategy and adventure synonymous with Survivor to Australian viewers,” he said.
Ten announced late last year that it would be bringing back the Survivor reality format but with an Australian group of contestants.
The move comes some 14 years after Nine tried such a format to be met with lacklustre ratings.
