Ten reality shows Thursday’s most watched non news programs

Channel Ten’s reality TV programs dominated Thursday evening, with I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!, and Gogglebox the most watched non-news programs.

According to OzTAM’s overnight preliminary metro ratings, I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!, which aired at 7:30pm and saw former The Bachelor contestant Keira Maguire take on her second Tucker Trial, attracted 910,000 viewers, an increase from last week’s audience of 773,000.

Ten’s I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!, was also the most watched program across the key advertising demographics, 16-39, 18-49, 25-54.

Also in the 7:30pm slot, Nine’s RBT pulled an audience of 645,000 viewers while Seven’s The Chase Australia managed 546,000 viewers.

On the news front, Seven won the night, with 937,000 viewers tuning in at 6:00pm and 898,000 viewers at 6:30pm.

Seven News audience figures were just ahead of Nine, which attracted audiences of 846,000 and 829,000, respectively.

Airing at 8:30pm, The Big Bang Theory achieved 615,000 viewers to defeat Seven’s Mighty Trains, at 560,000 viewers, and ABC’s Newton’s Law, which had an audience of 546,000.

However, it was the premiere of season five of Ten’s Gogglebox which dominated the later time slot, pulling in 725,000 viewers at 9:00pm ahead of Nine’s The Big Bang Theory which had an audience of 509,000.

Gogglebox was the second most watched non-news program of the night.

Channel Ten’s reality program success ensured its Thursday night win, with an audience share of 19.6%, just ahead of Nine’s 19.05%. Seven achieved a share of 18.2%, the ABC 11.9% and SBS 4.0%.
