Ten staff told to talk up ‘critical’ catchup TV offering tenplay

tenplayStaff at Ten have been told to “talk up” the network’s relaunched catchup TV offering tenplay.

In an email to publicity staff, the network’s director of corporate and public communications Neil Shoebridge urges them to treat tenplay, which relaunched on Monday, as seriously as if it is another channel. Describing tenplay as “critical” to the business, Shoebridge wrote:

“A reminder to everyone to download the tenplay app on to your iPhone and iPad. (Android users will be able to do later this year).

“We need to think of tenplay as our fourth channel, along with TEN, ELEVEN and ONE. That is why is it now appearing on everything we send out: highlights, news releases, news alerts, everything.

“It is a critical part of the business, now and in the future. In the same way that you watch shows across TEN, ELEVEN and ONE, you should be very active users of tenplay and know it inside and out.

“You all are champions for our brands and content, and tenplay is part of that. It is a great product, something we should all be proud of, and we all need to talk it up, wherever and whenever we can.”

The relaunch of tenplay by chief digital officer Rebekah Horne comes as streamed TV becomes the next major battleground, with Foxtel already having its Go and Play offerings in the market, the ABC leading the chase for audience with iview and Seven and Nine set to launch a joint offering.
