Ten wins the night as The Bachelorette tops ratings ladder

Reality TV dating show, The Bachelorette gave Ten a Thursday night television win with an overall audience share of 20.3%.

The Bachelorette, starring Sophie Monk, was the most watched program of the evening as 985,000 metro viewers tuned in, according to OzTAM’s overnight preliminary metro ratings.

In key advertising demographics 16-39,18-49 and 25-54, The Bachelorette was also the most viewed program.

Ten’s Gogglebox, which aired directly after The Bachelorette at 8.40pm, attracted 826,000 metro viewers and was the second most watched non-news program for the night.

The Project was the third most watched show for the channel as 537,000 metro viewers tuned in.

Coming in second for Thursday night television was Seven with an audience share of 20.1%.

Seven News at 6pm was the most watched program for the channel with 870,000 viewers, followed by Seven News/Today Tonight at 6.30pm which obtained 860,000 viewers.

Home and Away was the most watched non-news program for Seven managing 600,000 metro viewers.

Following Seven in overall audience share was Nine with 17.4%.

Nine News was the most watched program for Nine as 820,000 tuned in at 6pm and 812,000 at 6.30pm.

A Current Affair was the third most watched show for the channel averaging a metro audience of 731,000. RBT followed with 594,000 metro viewers.

Meanwhile ABC saw a share of 8.4% ahead of SBS’ 5.1% share.
