Ten’s all-female chat show The Circle beats Kerrie-Anne

Ten’s new morning chat show The Circle has claimed an early ratings victory, surging ahead of Nine’s Mornings with Kerri-Anne after just its second episode.  

While Seven’s The Morning Show remained in the lead with 163,000 viewers, The Circle – which goes to air an hour later than its morning show rivals – attracted 85,000. This was followed by Mornings with Kerri-Anne with 77,000.

The Circle launched on Tuesday with 78,000 viewers. It was already up from its predecessor, 9am with David and Kim, which last year averaged 68,000.

Meanwhile, Seven led the ratings night with its news and current affairs programs, while its 7Two channel pushed into the lead among the digital channels.

Seven News and Today Tonight were the most watched shows for the evening with around 1.3 million viewers respectively, according to preliminary overnight OzTam data across the five metropolitan markets.

In overall free-to-air viewing terms Seven attracted a 26.3 per cent share, followed by Nine with 23.4 per cent and Ten with 20.2 per cent.

Among the digital channels 7Two led with a 4.3 per cent share, followed by Nine’s Go with 2.6 per cent and Ten’s digital sports channel One with 0.8 per cent.

7Two also managed to beat SBS1’s share of 4.1 per cent.
