Spielberg's Terra Nova returns to QLD

The Steven Spielberg-executive produced TV show Terra Nova returns to Queensland to begin filming on 25 May and complete series one.

The return is good news for the  industry and the area, hurt by the natural devastation earlier in the year, the rise in currency and increased international competition.

Screen Queensland’s CEO Maureen Barron said today in a press release. “This entire production is massive in scale, and we are privileged to be a part of it through our talent and locations, with over 1,000 Queenslanders engaged comprising crew, cast and extras.”

Terra Nova is produced by 20th Century Fox Television, DreamWorks Television, Chernin Entertainment and Kapital Entertainment.

Terra Nova, about a time-travelling family fleeing a polluted and over-crowded 2149 for pre-historic times, is the second major television series Spielberg has filmed in Queensland, World War II epic, The Pacific, the first.
