Thank God You’re Here ratings dip but Seven still comfortable

Thank God You’re Here appears to be settling in to a slightly weaker TV audience on Seven than it enjoyed in its previous incarnation on Ten.

The improvised situation show pulled in an audience of just under 1.6m on Wednesday night, according to preliminary OzTam TV ratings. The figure was about 100,000 down on last week’s debut and roughly 200,000 down on its Ten network average. However, it still performed strongly enough to help Seven to a win for Wednesday night.

Meanwhile, last night’s The Gruen Transfer, which included debate around Coca Cola’s controversial “myths” advertising, pulled in an audience of just over 1.2m, making it the sixth most watched show of the night.

Wednesday’s peak ratings share: Seven 28.9%; Nine 25%; Ten 22.3%; ABC 18.1%; SBS 5.7%.

And media and marketing watchers are spoilt for choice tonight with The Gruen Transfer repeat, the Media Watch 20th anniversary special or Mad Men.

Wednesday’s top rating TV shows:

  1. Seven News – Seven 1.6m
  2. Thank God You’re Here – Seven 1.6m
  3. Today Tonight – Seven 1.6m
  4.  Spicks and Specks – ABC 1.3m
  5. Masterchef – Ten 1.2m
  6. The Gruen Transfer – ABC 1.2m
  7. Nine News – Nine 1.2m
  8. Criminal Minds – Seven 1.2m
  9. Home and Away – Seven 1.2m
  10. RPA – Nine 1.1m
