The 95th Academy Awards broadcast on Seven airs to 329k metro viewers

Seven’s midday broadcast of the 95th Academy Awards aired to 329,000 metro viewers on Monday. However, it was Married At First Sight (MAFS) on Nine that took the entertainment win once again.

The Academy Awards last year, which included the now infamous Chris Rock and Will Smith incident, pulled in 371,000 metro viewers.

Nine’s headline reality show pulled in 835,000 metro viewers last night, followed by Ten’s Australian Survivor on 536,000. MAFS also won all three key advertising demos.

Seven’s Home and Away attracted 482,000 metro viewers, while the network’s The Chase Australia brought in 478,000.

Media Watch and Australian Story on ABC aired to 455,000 and 430,000 metro viewers respectively.

Nine network won the night with a 31.3% overall share, followed by Seven with 27%, Ten with 17.5% and ABC with 17.3%.

The top-rated primary channel was Nine with a 24.8% share, but the top-rated multichannel was 7Two with 4.1%.

In the latest Daily Consolidated 7 Total TV Report for 6 March, Married at First Sight on Nine last Monday was the #1 program nationally with 1.86 million Total TV viewers, including 597,000 on BVOD and the biggest uplift of 61%.
