The ABC overshadows Ten in overall TV ratings week; Seven takes the win

Last week, ABC surpassed Ten in the overall network share every night except Thursday, while Seven secured the ratings week.

Seven beat Nine in the week ending 10 September with a network share of 31.5% over Nine’s 29.1%, while ABC finished the week on 16.4%, followed by Ten on 14.8%.

Seven also won the primary channel share for the week, with a 22.6% share ahead of Nine’s 21.2%, and the top multi-channel for the week was 7Mate on 4.3%.

In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for 4 September, The Block on Sunday was the #1 program nationally across linear, with 1.697 million viewers, including 273,000 on BVOD, and an uplift of 26%. The biggest uplift of the week was an episode of Savage on ABC with an uplift of 53% and aired to a total audience of 814,000.

Nine’s The Block topped entertainment on Sunday, while the network also celebrated an overall network share win.

The program aired to 983,000 metro viewers, also winning all three key advertising demos. The launch this year aired to an average metro audience of 867,000. Last year, Nine aired the 2021 premiere of the program to 747,000 metro viewers.

Looking back at Sunday overnights, next in entertainment was the Rugby League Finals on Nine which aired to an average metro audience of 487,000, followed by The Queens Final Journey Begins on Seven, which aired to an average of 487,000. 

Spicks and Specks on ABC had an average metro audience of 340,000, followed by The Amazing Race on Ten, which brought in 319,000 metro viewers.

Meanwhile, Seven News was the #1 metro program on Sunday with 997,000 metro viewers followed by Nine News on Sunday with 891,000 metro viewers. Nine’s 60 Minutes pulled in 591,000 viewers, and ABC News brought in 576,000.

As mentioned, Nine won the night, taking an overall network share of 34.3% over Seven’s 27.8%, while ABC had a share of 15.9%, and Ten took a 14.9% share.

Nine also won the primary channel share, and the top-rating multi-channel on Sunday was 7Mate with a share of 2.8%.
