The Advertiser in major multimedia push to cover state election campaign

The Advertiser is launching what it claims will be the country’s largest scale multimedia coverage of an election campaign which will include live streaming video around the South Australian election.

The News Limited-owned The Advertiser newspaper and Adelaidenow.com.au will provide coverage in the final week of the election campaign from Monday, until the count on March 20.

It will encompass live news video, exclusive video interviews, the use of social media through Twitter and Facebook, opinion polling and audience surveys, SMS alerts, print and online stories and interactive features such as discussions with voters through Skype which will be featured on the site.

Melvin Mansell, The Advertiser editor, said: “This is true multimedia coverage. We will take our expert political coverage and distribute it to readers in virtually any way they want, allow them to interact, comment and even drive the news agenda.”
