The Australian Traffic Network picks up NSW sales director from Nine

Traffic news provider, the Australian Traffic Network (ATN), has appointed an ex-Nine group business director as its new NSW sales director.

Media sales expert Heidi Sayers has been named in the role, and will work under and report to Karen Holmes – the company’s national sales director.

Prior to her new role, Sayers spent over four-and-a-half years at Nine, joining the broadcaster as its director sales Sydney – Nine Radio in March 2020, before being promoted to group business director in July that same year, covering television, publishing, radio and digital.

During her stint at Nine, Sayers’ position also consisted of creating optimised teams and next-level sales strategies.

“I’m excited to join ATN at such a dynamic time for the business. I have a deep understanding of formats that effectively capture real attention for brands, whilst engaging audiences at scale,” Sayers said

“I look forward to building on ATN’s strong foundation, extending our client partnerships and helping to drive the business forward.”

Holmes credited Sayers’ expertise in media formats and engaging sales teams as some of the reasons why the former Nine director is a great match for the ATN team.

“Heidi’s experience in driving sales teams across multiple media formats makes her the perfect fit to head up ATN’s NSW team,” Holmes said.

“Her deep understanding of the media and advertising landscape and ability to leverage content-driven strategies will be instrumental in supercharging our direct and agency sales efforts in this key market.

“As we approach our brand relaunch, Heidi will help us unlock new growth opportunities for our clients and I’m delighted to welcome her to the team.”

Before joining Nine, Sayers spent more than three years at APN Australian Regional Media, coming on board in November 2014 as a media sales manager before wrapping up her time there in December 2017 as its group sales director.

She also completed two stints at News Corp Australia – the first spanning more than 14 years from July 2000 to October 2014, and the second from January 2017 to March 2020, with the terms covering account management and director positions, respectively.
