The Block built to last; another win for Nine

Nine’s The Block topped entertainment on Tuesday, while the network also celebrated an overall network share win.

The program aired to 782,000 metro viewers, also winning all three key advertising demos. The launch this year aired to an average metro audience of 867,000. Last year, Nine aired the 2021 premiere of the program to 747,000 metro viewers.

In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for Tuesday 18 October, Seven News at 6:30 was the #1 program nationally across linear, with 1.394 million viewers, including 39,000 on BVOD, and an uplift of 3%. The biggest uplift of the week was an episode of The Good Doctor on Seven with an uplift of 42%.

Looking back at Tuesday’s overnights, The Chase Australia aired to an average metro audience of 455,000, followed by The Federal Budget – The Treasurers Speech on ABC which aired to an average of 445,000.

In sport, the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, Australia vs Sri Lanka brought in a metro audience of 277,000.

Meanwhile, Seven News won overall TV viewing on Tuesday night with 888,000 metro viewers, followed by Seven News at 6:30 with 849,000 metro viewers, while Nine News at 6:30 had 775,000 metro viewers. Nine News brought in 763,000, A Current Affair pulled in 664,000 metro views, and ABC News pulled in 573,000 viewers.

As mentioned, Nine won the night, taking an overall network share of 35% over Seven’s 23.4%, while Ten had a share of 16.4%, and the ABC had a share of 17.5%.

Nine also won the primary channel share, and the top-rating multi-channel on Tuesday was 9Gem with a share of 3.5%.
