The Block final pulls in 1.7m

Nine’s 2010 season of The Block may not have revived old glories but the winner announcement was easily the top show on Wednesday night, delivering an average audience of 1.712m.

The rest of the show averaged 1.305m, according to preliminary overnight metro ratings from OzTam.

Meanwhile, Shane Warne’s debut as a chat show host was solid, with Warnie delivering an average audience of 854,000 in the 9pm to 10pm slot.  

On Seven, the City Homicide double episode  final which ran from 8.30pm to 10.30pm averaged 887,000 and 779,000. And Ten’s The Good Wife, which ran from 8.30pm to 9.30pm rated 617,000 while House, which followed, rated 612,000.
