The Block on top again as Nine takes overall share

An episode of Nine’s The Block came out on top last night for entertainment programming, nudging the Nine Network ahead to win overall share.

The episode brought in 665,000 metro viewers to the network, followed by Seven’s The Chase Australia, which averaged 510,000 metro viewers, as ABC’s Mad As Hell came in third for entertainment, with 475,000 metro viewers.

In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for 17 August, The Block was the #1 program nationally across linear, with 1.459 million viewers, including 246,000 on BVOD, and an uplift of 38%. This was also the highest uplift of the week.

Next in entertainment, was Home and Away on Seven, with 474,000 metro viewers, just pipping network’s tentpole show, My Kitchen Rules, which brought in 466,000 metro viewers.

ABC’s Hard Quiz came in with 430,000 metro viewers, while Ten’s The Masked Singer, now approaching its final episodes, followed with 420,000 metro viewers, however 440,000 tuned in for the reveal. Nine’s Hot Seat also brought in 417,000 metro viewers.

Meanwhile, Seven News was the #1 metro program on Wednesday with 864,000 metro viewers followed by Seven News at 6:30 with 843,000 metro viewers, while Nine News brought in 837,000 metro viewers. Nine News at 6:30 pulled in 818,000 viewers.

Nine’s A Current Affair was next, with 672,000 metro viewers, while ABC News brought in 567,000 metro viewers and ABC’s 7:30 had 481,000 metro viewers.

As mentioned, Nine won overall share for the night, taking an overall network share of 31.1% over Seven’s 27.0%, while Ten took a 17.4% share and the ABC had 16.5%.

Nine also won the primary channel share, and the top-rating multi-channel for Tuesday was 10 Peach with a share of 3.5%.
