The Block wins entertainment as Nine wins Monday

Nine’s The Block was the #1 entertainment program on Monday night as the network also celebrated an overall network share win.

The Block brought in a metro audience of 835,000, while also winning key advertising demos, 18-49 and 25-54.

Ten’s Have You Been Paying Attention? was next in entertainment pulling in a metro audience of 697,000, and also won the key advertising demo, 16-39, while Ten’s second episode of Celebrity MasterChef had 601,000 metro viewers. The premiere of Ten’s Celebrity MasterChef Australia had 620,000 metro viewers.

Home And Away on Seven brought in 589,000 metro viewers, followed by Seven’s SAS Australia which had a metro audience of 585,000, while The Chase Australia on Seven aired to 560,000 metro viewers.

Media Watch on ABC pulled in 504,000 metro viewers, while ABC’s Australian Story had 503,000 metro viewers.

The #1 program on Monday was Seven News, which had an average of 1.079 million metro viewers, ahead of Seven News at 6.30 with 1.02 million and Nine News at 6:30 with 997,000 metro viewers.

As previously mentioned, Nine won the night, taking an overall network share of 28.5% over Seven’s 25.7%, while Ten had a 21.2% network share, and ABC had 17.6%.

Nine also won primary channel share while the top-rating multi-channel for Monday was 7TWO with a share of 3.3%.

In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for 4 October, Seven News was the #1 program nationally across linear television, with 1.668 million viewers, and 36,000 on BVOD.

The Block was #1 entertainment program with 1.654 million viewers, including a BVOD audience of 215,000 views, an uplift of 19%, surpassing Nine News, Nine News at 6:30pm and Seven News at 6:30pm.

The program with the biggest uplift was also Monday’s episode of The Block which had a 19%.
