The Block wins entertainment but Seven tops network share on Wednesday

Nine’s The Block aired to an average of 668,000 metro viewers on Wednesday, enough to be #1 in entertainment programming.

The Block also won the 16-39 advertising demo, while Nine News took out 18-49 and 25-54 on a night that was won by Seven in terms of network share.

In other entertainment programming, Home And Away brought in 637,000 metro viewers for Seven, with The Chase Australia airing to 584,000 metro viewers.

ABC’s Hard Quiz had 568,000 metro viewers, while the second week of Will Anderson-hosted panel show Question Everything brought in 453,000 metro viewers.

Ten’s The Bachelor was further down the list with 445,000 metro viewers, also behind Nine’s Hot Seat and Seven’s RFDS.

After a big opening ceremony on Tuesday, Seven’s Night session of the Tokyo Paralympics brought in 374,000 metro viewers, just making it into the top 20 programs.

Seven News was the top-rating program overall, with 1.168 million metro viewers. Meanwhile, Nine News aired to 1.066 million metro viewers.

As mentioned, Seven also won the network share stakes with 32.7%, ahead of Nine’s 27.8%, while Ten and the ABC tied on 15.7% apiece. Nine claimed the #1 primary channel position, and 7Mate took a big 9.6% as the #1 multi-channel thanks to the Paralympics.
