The Block wins Monday as Tricky Business struggles in prime time
Tricky Business failed to find a bigger audience in its new slot in the schedule on Monday night.
The Nine Australian drama rated 716,000, a disappointing 17th for the night, according to preliminary overnight metro ratings from OzTam.
The show averaged similar numbers when airing at 9:30pm after The Voice, but last night failed to capitalise on an earlier, prime time slot.
In its 8-9pm time slot, Tricky Business lost to The ABC’s Australian Story and Four Corners special on Gina Rinehart which took 1.096m and 1.04m respectively and Seven’s The Amazing Race Australia which took 971,000.
However, it beat Ten’s US sitcom Last Man Standing which rated 691,000.
In the demos, Tricky Business did manage to jump up to 9th spot in the 16-39 and 18-49 and 11th in the 25-54.
Winning the night overall was The Block with 1.543m followed by Nine News on 1.375m and Seven News on 1.373m, just 2000 viewers separating the competing 6pm news broadcasts.
Seven’s US thriller Revenge was 4th overall with 1.319m it was 2nd in 18-49 and 25-54 demos and 3rd in 16-39.
Masterchef, which placed 7th overall with 1.15m to be the network’s highest rating show, was 2nd in 16-39 and 3rd in 18-49 and 25-54.
