The Chase Australia wins entertainment as Seven takes overall share

Seven’s The Chase Australia has topped entertainment for Thursday evening, with Seven also taking out the win for overall share.

The episode brought in 532,000 metro viewers, followed by Ten’s MasterChef Australia which had 505,000 metro viewers and won the 16-39 advertising demographic. The remaining key advertising demo were both awarded to Nine news.

In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for 5 May, Seven News topped the list with 1.485 million Total TV viewers, including 33,000 viewers on BVOD with an uplift of 3%. The program with the highest uplift was Ten’s Masterchef Australia with 29%, and viewed by 796,000 national viewers.

Next in entertainment on Thursday was Home and Away on Seven, which brought in 460,000 metro viewers, followed by Nine’s Hot Seat with 440,000 metro viewers.

ABC’s Foreign Correspondent came next, with 368,000 metro viewers, then Nine’s RBT with 368,000. Big Brother on Seven had 358,000 metro viewers and Seven’s The Front Bar brought in 338,000 metro viewers.

Overall, Seven News topped programming with 942,000 metro viewers, followed by Seven News at 6.30 with 873,000 metro viewers. Nine News was next with 871,000 metro viewers, then Nine News at 6:30 with 810,000 metro viewers. ABC News brought in 629,000 metro viewers, with Nine’s A Current Affair following with 572,000 metro viewers, then ABC’s 7.30 with 489,000 metro viewers.

As mentioned, the Seven Network took out total share for the evening with 27.4%, followed by the Nine Network on 25.2%. Network 10 was next with 19.4% of total share, followed by ABC with 17.3%.
