The Chaser moves to Nova with new podcast launch

Comedy group The Chaser have found a new home for their content, announcing a podcast hosted by Nova Entertainment.

The Chaser Report will be a half-hour topical comedy current affairs show, launching Friday 17 April. The Chaser previously hosted Radio Chaser on Triple M which ceased in December 2019. The group still have a podcast hosted on Southern Cross Austereo’s PodcastOne, but no new content is planned for the future.

The show will be a short, sharp look at the week’s news, showbiz and sport. Each episode will feature advice on how to survive the coronavirus lockdown – particularly through the consumption of alcohol according to The Chaser.

The Chaser’s Charles Firth said: “Demand for reliable, trustworthy information is soaring during the coronavirus pandemic, but we decided to launch The Chaser Report anyway.”

Produced by The Chaser team and presented by Firth, Andrew Hansen and Dom Knight, the podcast will feature appearances from the rest of the crew, including annoying anti-waste guy Craig Reucassel, Chris Taylor and Zoe Norton-Lodge, guests from across the comedy world, as well as crosses to experts around the globe.

Hansen said: “We’re living in crazy times. That’s why we’re bringing back a weekly show where we can just go to war on everything that’s happening.”

Kane Reiken, Nova Entertainment’s digital commercial director said: “From chasing down politicians to their headline breaking stunts, we have been super fans of The Chaser for years and are pumped to be working alongside them in developing unique brand integration and sponsorship opportunities for their new podcast series.”

The Chaser Report will be available from Friday 17 April, with a new episode released every Friday.
