The Commando and Pfizer to speak at the Mumbrella Health Marketing Summit

Australian TV personality, personal trainer and R U OK? Day ambassador, Steve Willis – also known as The Commando – will speak at Mumbrella’s Health Marketing Summit in Sydney on August 22.

Willis, who has appeared on reality TV shows including The Biggest Loser and Australian Survivor, will present a session on ‘Influence, wellbeing, fitness and mental health’.

The former army commander and Crossfit trainer will unpack how he built his brand around fitness and the Crossfit craze, and how he has managed to build a community around it.

Plus, Willis will give insight into his plans for boosting the Commando brand, advice on growth and explain how mental health and his partnership with R U OK? Day has worked for both parties.

Also joining the lineup is Stuart Black, group CEO of The Ward6 Group and McCann Health Australia, and Cameron Dodds, commercial portfolio manager of women’s health at Pfizer.

Black and Dodds will present Creativity in pharma: Can Australia do better?

Black and Dodds will address creativity in the pharmaceutical industry, asking whether Australia can do better.

The session will see the duo delve into the differences between the world of prescription advertising and other areas of health, while investigating whether or not creativity is sufficiently valued in the Australian pharmaceutical industry.

Black and Dodds will share the key ingredients to marketing prescription products and explore what creativity looks like in today’s landscape. Plus delegates will get a look behind the scenes as Pfizer unpacks a case study which saw the brand successfully launch a new prescription product to market.

In addition, the peak body for the consumer health industry, Consumer Healthcare Products Australia – formerly known as ASMI – will present a session aimed at navigating through the advertising regulations in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry.

Lomas will speak on a session titled Navigating regulation: The new advertising landscape

Jarrod Lomas, public affairs manager, and Brenda Davy, director of business at Consumer Healthcare Products Australia will explore the regulatory framework that governs consumer advertising of therapeutic goods in Australia, unpack the evolving regulatory landscape and provide detailed information on the levels of advertising regulation, the approvals process and complaints mechanisms.

The Commando, Pfizer, McCann Health and Consumer Healthcare Products Australia join other speakers already on the lineup including  Ahm, The Heart Foundation, Deloitte, Bayer and Compare the Market.
