The genius of Ros Reines: whatever became of George Negus?
Today’s item about Ruby Rose’s Twitter takedown of the Sunday Telegraph’s Ros Reines, has led a member of the Twitterati to flag another piece of genius from the well informed columnist that’s too good to go unremarked.
Perhaps suggesting she doesn’t watch the grown-up news so much, Reines tweeted:
It’s weird watching George Negus on TV again – like going back in time #7pmProject
Or like changing the channel, come to that, as 2GB’s Trevor Long gently pointed out:
@tabloidterror he hosts dateline on SBS:)
In case it helps, Ros, that’s the station where the words have more than one syllable. Still, it’s nice that Ten’s 7pm Project is helping keep our ageing population entertained.
Internet: the trial by fire that big media has for lived without.
Your lies will not hold here, the truth will always be uncovered.
Your argument is irrelevant, i have a windmill in my beard!

And again.. another post not really contributing to social media but proving just how nasty it can get. This reflects on you, just as much as who you’re targeting here. First @silkcharm, and now @tabloidterror. Shame.

Kimberley, she is a reporter, someone in the public eye. If people are to read mumbrella, it has to be interesting.
This sure interests me…

You know what – I haven’t seen Kimberly & Ros in the same room together…

Maybe I’m missing something- but what’s wrong with Ros’ comment?
I’m not sure how you can argue George hasn’t been out of the limelight (and by limelight- I mean a TV network that more than 16 people watch a night) for a while.
This story is about a pissweak, off the cuff, irrelevant tweet- and reeks more of sour grapes over Ros’ tweet about Tim, than a story people could care less about.
“In case it helps, Ros, that’s the station where the words have more than one syllable.”
Talk about a bitchy comment. Jesus.. Someone needs to take a deep breath- they’re starting to sound a bit pretentious here.

Not that it matters, Jeff, but this item came before that tweet was posted…
Cheers,
Tim – Mumbrella
Jeff, If a highly paid journalist on Australia’s highest circulating paper doesn’t even know George Negus is on SBS, and is stupid enough to admit it, I’d want to know about it.

Fair enough Tim- wasnt aware. Still sounds like a bit of a nothing story though.
FFS: Where about’s did she say she didn’t know George was on SBS? Maybe I missed that tweet.. Care to post it?

To the second commenter. I’ve no idea if Ros reines is a bully, but her column certainly is. So I’m glad to see her getting a bit back.
Week after week her column contains diatribes about people who’ve annoyed her (like Ruby Rose because she didn’t do red carpet pictures).
Her guess who-don’t sue column mainly consists of score-settling – venting against PRs or more seuccessful magazine editors who’ve annoyed her. You just know thta if you don;t give her what she wants, there’ll be a bitter reference to you in the next column. How boring for her readers though. No wonder they’ve shrunk the column.
Look out for a veiled reference to Mumbrella this week. Guaranteed.
