May 9, 2011 –

Research and strategy consultancy, The Leading Edge (TLE), has created three new global roles for senior executives as part of its ongoing expansion as a global network.

Chief Executive Officer of TLE, Mr Andy Bateman, said “These three roles are central to our service offer to clients and represent a revitalized core practice discipline in our business. Each of the roles is global in nature and is intended to drive quality, consistency and innovation in our thinking across all geographies and clients; knitting together our disciplines and our network.

Jenny Irons has joined The Leading Edge as the Global Head of Qualitative Insight where she will drive the company’s qualitative offer and practice, as well as help to drive innovation and integration around digital insight development.

She is a specialist qualitative researcher and strategic planner with over 20 years experience in Australia, Asia, Europe and the US. Jenny is a skilled practitioner, intuitive marketer and strategic thinker who has worked extensively in the public and private sectors. Bateman added, “Jenny brings with her a comprehensive worldview as well as deep practice experience in both digital and face to face qualitative research and strategy. There isn’t a category that Jenny hasn’t touched and she has quickly made an impact across the network”

Jenny’s most recent client role was as Head of Insight and Research for the Seven Network in Australia. Here she was responsible for the insights behind the Seven brand strategy, establishing the Seven viewer online community and for the neuro insights research which supported the media sales around the Beijing Olympics.

Jenny has a wealth of experience in communication research and development both as a researcher but also as a strategic planner for McWasp, Lintas and the Clemenger advertising group.

Lee Naylor joined The Leading Edge in December 2010 having previously worked in the UK, USA as well as Australia. Bateman remarked, “Lee is now focussed on ensuring that TLE meshes together the much in-demand analytics services with our already strong quantitative capabilities and building a team of practitioners that’s state of the art.”

Before joining TLE, Lee was the Executive Director for Nielsen Consumer Research and Bases in Australia. Lee also worked for Research International where he was part of the Marketing Science group working with blue chip clients across a variety of countries and issues.

Chris Paxton has moved from the role of Sydney Managing Partner to the newly created Global Head of Strategy following seven years with the firm. As part of the push towards becoming a truly insight-led strategy consultancy, Chris is now focused on rolling out TLE’s strategy capabilities around the global network of offices in Sydney, Singapore, London and New York. As Bateman puts it, “our clients are increasingly looking for our help and advice in not just reporting the news, but in getting the ball over the line with strategies that allow them to grow and gain advantage in new areas. Chris is one of those rare people who is able to pull insights through to strategy and then see it through to deployment – whether that’s in innovation, brand strategy, customer experience design or go to market strategies”
