The Living Room returns to Ten on 3 July with ‘revamped, re-energised and relocated’ format

Ten’s home and lifestyle program, The Living Room, is returning to Australian screens on 3 July.

Despite the program being announced during Ten’s Upfronts last year, the return of The Living Room became shrouded in confusion when Ten said in December it would not come back in 2020. Instead hosts Amanda Keller, Chris Brown, Barry Du Bois and Miguel Maestre would appear in a new format.

A Network Ten spokesperson told Mumbrella at the time: “The Living Room will not return in 2020. We are thrilled that the brilliant team of Amanda, Barry, Miguel and Chris will be back at 7:30 on Friday nights next year, watch this space for more information.”

However, in March TV Tonight reported that Ten had reached a settlement with the producers of the program, WTFN, enabling it to continue the use of the name ‘The Living Room’. WTFN is no longer producing the series but has retained its rights in the format and all international rights to the program and format.

The new series of The Living Room will take place on a new set and involve the cast entering the home of an Australian family each week to “improve their lives with a little TLC.”

Ten has labelled the new series as “revamped, re-energised and relocated”.

The Living Room already has eight seasons under its belt, first airing in 2012 with 30 episodes.

Keller is also the host of Ten’s Dancing With The Stars, alongside Grant Denyer. In 2019 Maestre was a competitor on the program and also appeared on TV screens this year as the winner of I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here.
