The Masked Singer returns to Ten on Monday, 13 September

Network Ten has confirmed the new season of The Masked Singer Australia will premiere on Monday, 13 September at 7:30pm on Channel 10 and 10 Play On Demand, the same week it is launching its new format, Making It Australia.

The show is based on a South Korean format and welcomes back the same panel of judges in 2021, as they, and Australia, try to guess the celebrities signing behind the bizarre and baffling set of costumes.

Singer-songwriter and actress Dannii Minogue, radio hosts Dave Hughes and Jackie O, and comedian Urzila Carlson, are all returning. The latter was piped in last year as a replacement for season one judge Lindsay Lohan who was not able to travel to Australia due to COVID-19 restrictions.

This season will once again see 12 celebrities battle it out, and Osher Günsberg (also host of The Bachelor) will return as host and MC.

The 2020 premiere brought in 733,000 metro viewers, a drop of 30% on the first episode of its first season when 1.162 million metro viewers tuned in.

The format went on to deliver solid numbers throughout its 2020 season, despite a COVID outbreak on set, even delivering Ten a primary channel win over Seven and Nine.

The 2020 final reveal aired to 1.191 million metro viewers, down on the 2019 finale with 1.372 million metro viewers.
