The Second Test: Australia vs West Indies cricket match delivers for Seven

Seven’s cricket: Second Test – Australia vs West Indies topped non-news TV programming on Thursday night, while the network also celebrated an overall network share win.

The match scored a healthy 434,000 metro views, while the game also won all three key advertising demos.

Next in non-sport programming was Nine’s Great Getaways which pulled in 260,000 metro viewers, followed by the network’s Paramedics which drew in 254,000 metro views.

In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for 1 December, Seven News was the #1 program nationally across linear, with 1.098 million viewers, including 25,000 on BVOD and an uplift of 2%. Love Island Australia on Nine had the biggest uplift of 525% and was viewed by a total audience of 381,000, and 280,000 on BVOD.

Meanwhile, Nine News at 6:30 was the #1 metro program on Thursday with 640,000 metro viewers followed by Seven News at 6:30 with 635,000 metro viewers. Nine News also aired to 631,000, while Seven News brought in 627,000. ABC News was next and pulled in 491,000 viewers, while A Current Affair brought in 488,000.

In terms of overall share, as mentioned, Seven took the top spot, with a share of 32.5% over Nine’s 27.4%, followed by Ten with a share of 15.9%, and ABC finishing up with a share of 15.3%.

Seven also secured the top primary channel share with 23.3% while Nine followed with 17.9%. The top-rating multi-channel on Thursday was 10 Peach with a share of 4.1%.
