The Voice and Lip Sync Battle help Nine win the night as Seven’s House Rules slides

The Voice continued to dominate TV viewing last night, pulling in 1.671m metro viewers, helping Nine claim a winning audience share of 26.1 per cent.

The singing contest, which aired from 7.30pm, was up on last week’s audience of 1.473m and was the most-watched show across the key advertising demographics (16-39, 18-49 and 25-54).

Nine’s Lip Sync Battle and Ten’s Masterchef competed for the second most-watched show across the key advertising demographics, with Masterchef winning amongst viewers aged 16-39 and 18-49 and Lip Sync Battle the second most-watched show amongst people aged 25-54.

Masterchef pulled in 1.065m metro viewers in the 7.30pm timeslot, while Lip Sync Battle, airing after The Voice at 9pm, grabbed 1.036m metro viewers.

Meanwhile Seven’s House Rules, on at 7.30pm, shed 106,000 viewers from last week, posting a metro audience of 927,000.

Seven claimed an audience share of 16.4 per cent, ahead of Ten’s share of 14.9 per cent while the ABC managed a share of 14.6 per cent.

The Blacklist, on Seven at 8.30pm, grabbed 559,000 metro viewers, down on last week’s audience of 578,000 and was out-rated by Ten’s Have You Been Paying Attention? which pulled in 712,000.

On the ABC, the second part of Gina Rinehart’s Australian Story (8.30pm) pulled in 807,000 viewers, down on last week’s audience of  862,000. Q&A at 9.35pm was watched by 636,000, holding firm on the prior week after yet more headlines about the show and the continued boycott by government ministers.

In the news battleground, Nine News at 6pm was watched by 1.326m, dipping to 1.311m from 6.30pm. It easily beat rival Seven News which at 6pm was watched by 1.105m, slipping to 1.091m from 6.30pm.
