The Voice Australia Grand Final draws in 779K metro viewers

The Voice Australia Grand Final was the top entertainment program on Sunday night, rounding out a winning ratings week for Network Seven.

The episode brought in 751,000 metro viewers, with 779,000 metro viewers tuning into the final 15 minutes of the episode to see the winner announced. The episode was also the highest rating entertainment program for the 25-54 advertising demo, however it was Masterchef Australia that lead the other key advertising demos, coming in second for entertainment with 500,000 metro viewers.

The Seven Network took the week ending 29 May with a network share of 33.5%  over Nine Network’s 24.6%, while Network Ten finished the week on 18.0% , ahead of the ABC TV Network’s 15.6% share.

Seven was also the winner of primary channel share for the week, with a 24.6%  share, compared to Nine’s 18.1%. The top multi-channel for the week was 7mate with 4.2% share.

In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for 22 May, Sunday’s Seven News was the #1 program nationally across linear, with 1.665 million viewers, including 39,000 on BVOD and an uplift of 3%. The biggest uplift of the week was the launch episode of Celebrity Apprentice Australia with an uplift of 29% and aired to a total audience of 697,000.

For Sunday’s ratings, next in entertainment was Grand Designs on ABC, with 426,000 metro viewers, followed by the launch episode of Nine’s Celebrity Apprentice Australia, which brought in 390,000 metro viewers. Seven’s AFL: Sunday Afternoon Football also brought in 287,000 metro viewers, ahead of Nine’s Sunday Afternoon NRL with 219,000 metro viewers.

Overall, Seven News topped programming on Sunday with 1.025 million metro viewers, followed by Nine News with 911,000 metro viewers. ABC News brought in 616,000 metro viewers, and Ten’s The Sunday Project brought in 354,000 metro viewer, with Nine’s 60 Minutes on 322,000 metro viewers.

The Seven Network won the night, taking an overall network share of 32.4% over Nine Network’s 24.4%, while Ten took a 19.5% share and the ABC had 14.0%.

Seven also won the primary channel share with 24.9%, and the top-rating multi-channel on Sunday was 7Mate with a share of 3.5%.
