The Voice launches to 843k metro FTA viewers ahead of MasterChef and Lego Masters

The Voice Australia launch on Seven won entertainment on Monday with an average of 843,000 metro viewers tuning in. The Voice had 1.329 million metro viewers for its launch episode last year.

Next in entertainment, was the premiere of Lego Masters which pulled in 672,000 metro viewers, while also winning key advertising demos, 18-49, and 25-54. Last year, the program pulled in 838,000 metro viewers for tis launch episode.

 

Seven’s chief content officer, Entertainment Programming, Angus Ross, said: “The return of The Voice dominated Monday night as the #1 entertainment program nationally and across the capital cities, with a total overnight audience of 1.33 million viewers. After being crowned the #1 entertainment program of 2021, The Voice is back with the same winning panel of superstar coaches Australia loves and an unbelievable lineup of world-class artists. We can’t wait to show you what’s to come and continue Seven’s streak as the #1 network nationally in 2022.”

Ten’s launch of the new series MasterChef Fans & Favourites was next in entertainment, and brought in 545,000 metro viewers. Last year, the program saw 670,000 metro viewers tune in. 

Nine’s Hot Seat saw 354,000 metro viewers, followed by The Project 7pm on Ten which had 347,000 metro viewers.

Meanwhile, Seven’s Monday afternoon AFL game had 388,000 metro viewers.

In overall network share for Monday, Seven won the night with a 34% network share streaking ahead of Nine’s 28.7%, Ten finished with a 17.2% share, while the ABC had a 12.7% share.

Meanwhile, Seven won the primary channel share, with a 19.7% share ahead of Nine’s 18.5%, and the top multi-channel for the week was 7Mate on 4%.

Seven also managed to snag the ratings week, which ended 16 April, with a share of 29.5% over Nine’s 27.3%, while Ten finished the week on 16.9% just pipping the ABC on 16.7%.

Seven News was the #1 metro program on Monday with 1.052 million metro viewers, followed by Seven News at 6:30 with 1.014 million viewers. Nine News was next with 907,000 metro viewers, and Nine News at 6:30 with 898,000 viewers.
