The Voice rises to 2m for Nine

The Voice broke through the 2m mark for Nine last night, leaving the network as the victor in Tuesday’s three-way reality battle with an audience of 2.07m.

The silver medal went to Seven’s My Kitchen Rules which rated 1.368m and was second for the night.

Bronze went to The Biggest Loser, which rated 568,000 for Ten and was 15th for the night according to preliminary overnight metro ratings from OzTAM.

Meanwhile, Seven’s Packed to The Rafters won its timeslot with an audience of 1.155m, narrowly beating Kevin Bacon serial killer drama The Following on Nine which rated 1.031m. Next came ABC1’s New Tricks with 703,000 viewers. Ten’s NCIS was fourth in the timeslot with 523,000 viewers.

Nine won the night with a 29.3 per cent share of the free to air audience. Next came Seven with 23 per cent, Ten with 12.3 per cent and ABC1 with 11.4 per cent.

The Voice also topped all the key advertising demographics, followed by MKR.

Packed To The Rafters was third in 16-39, and fourth in both 18-49 and 25-54.

Ten’s best performer in its key 18-49 demographic was The Biggest Loser, which was ninth for the night.

Meanwhile, the battle for breakfast went Today’s way again, beating Seven’s Sunrise by an unusually large margin of 397,000 to 320,000. The advantage stretched to mid morning where Nine’s Mornings (159,000) easily beat Seven’s The Morning Show (145,000).
