The Works’ parent company RXP Services acquired by Capgemini

Global consulting, technology and digital transformation business, Capgemini, has completed its acquisition of RXP Services after announcing its bid to take over the group in November.

The acquisition reinforces Capgemini’s expansion in Australia. RXP Services, known as RXP Group in market, is headquartered in Melbourne and has locations in Sydney, Canberra and Hobart.

RXP’s 550 staff, including that of creative agency The Works, are involved in the takeover.

The Works will facilitate a new chapter for Capgemini in Australia, complementing the capabilities of Capgemini Invent, to extend the design and delivery of end-to-end digital experiences.

Capgemini took ownership of RXP Services through scheme of arrangement which approved by the requisite majorities of RXP Services shareholders and by the Federal Court of Australia.

“RXP’s experience in delivering data and cloud solutions for a wide range of complex businesses will enable further expansion of Capgemini’s offerings in Australia and New Zealand. Their extensive expertise and knowledge further deepen our networks and capabilities to meet the anticipated growth in demand for digital services and we are delighted to welcome them to the Capgemini team,” said Capgemini Asia-Pacific and Middle East CEO, Olaf Pietschner.

“The acquisition of RXP will mark a step change in Capgemini’s presence in Australia,” said Kaylene O’Brien, managing director for Capgemini Australia and New Zealand.

“Organisations are operating in a more agile business environment. With the combination of our highly complementary businesses, we are well positioned as a strategic partner to enable our clients’ transformation in digital, data and cloud. We look forward to welcoming the talent and leaders of RXP to Capgemini.”

The takeover also reinforces Capgemini’s strategic partnerships with Microsoft, ServiceNow and Salesforce.

Together, Capgemini and RXP will employ over 2,000 people in Australia, with the objective of accelerating digital transformation for businesses by offering capabilities in strategy, transformation, application, technology, operations and engineering.

RXP’s CEO Ross Fielding said: “Bringing together our two organisations not only opens up a world of opportunity for RXP’s people, it also accelerates Capgemini’s ambitious plan for growth across the region. Leveraging our combined capabilities will be hugely positive for our people, our business and our clients.”

RXP already lists itself as a part of Capgemini on its website.
